Our Story
"Buds and Bowls" is a heartfelt collaboration between Joe Lagrasso from Friendly Aussie Buds and Christina Mc Mullan of AusCannaReviews. Born from a desire to create a space where medical cannabis patients can gather, socialise, medicate safely, and enjoy the company of others who appreciate the medicine's value. Our vision extends beyond the event to nurture a new culture within the cannabis community that's inclusive, educated, and engaged. Lawn bowls, with its accessibility and social nature, perfectly encapsulates our ethos, offering a backdrop for an event that's set to redefine community gatherings in the cannabis space.

The Boo is conveniently located near Bowen Hills Train Station and along major bus routes, making public transport a breeze. Due to limited parking and the emphasis on safe medicating practices, we recommend not driving to the event.

Absolutely! The tournament is open for teams of four. You can pre-sign up on our website or find a team through our Facebook event page. Event staff can also assist on the day. Remember, it’s single elimination, and space is limited!
We kindly request that attendees be at least 18 years old to participate in this event. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining the appropriate atmosphere for all guests. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
While our event is open to the public, we kindly ask attendees who require medicinal cannabis to ensure that it is stored in its original container with the prescription label still attached. This helps us maintain a safe and compliant environment for all participants. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Thank you for understanding.
It’s a designated area for vaporising medical cannabis in compliance with QLD regulations. No food is allowed, and medications must be in their original containers. Consider obtaining a letter from your doctor if you’re concerned about public possession.
Aside from the informative talks, workshops, and the lawn bowls tournament, you’ll enjoy live music, a glass blowing demonstration, and an exclusive merchandise showbag. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to network within the cannabis community.
While we do not have handicap accessible toilets onsite, we want to assist you in any way we can. There is a Bunnings and a Shell service station nearby where accessible facilities are available.
